Sophie and Nick

Villa Grabau opened its doors for the ultimate wedding set

Sophie and Nick were looking for the right place, somewhere quiet in the rural elegance of Tuscany, yet with easy access to some art and entertaining hotspots. They knew that their  wedding group was looking forward to some off time in Italy and they all loved the idea of a short September escape. Florence and Siena are usually the top picks amongst our couples, but we often divert curious clients to the smaller, less packed districts of Lucca and Arezzo.

Fashionable as a movie set, they eventually settled on Villa Grabau with our own blessing. With this villa you will get two wonderful features, the magical gardens and the upcycled barn. The impressive landscape work cut out of the extensive and wild green area enclosing the villa divinely matched Sophie's country-chic aesthetics of the aperitif with high-top tables and fancy white linen cloths.

The vision

Sophie and Nick's notes

Designing the moment of the wedding reception - which is the second most important element when putting together the logistics of a wedding - was very inspiring for our planners Sonia and Aurora.

The chosen location made it all the more interesting, with ample possibilities of décor, thanks to the barn high ceilings and big floor space to fill. Sophie and Nick agreed on using long buffet tables to make the moment fun for the guests and in line with the elegant mood of the wedding. We also informed Sophie that the extra space available on the tables would be absolutely perfect for the intended amount of white flower arrangements she had requested, and rest assured, everything worked very well together. On the pre-wedding venue check we walked the space with our vendors and it looked incredible, we couldn't wait for our couple to see it all!

The five deal breakers for Sophie and Nick

  • Location: classic and far from the city
  • Ceremony: symbolic with reference to Nick's Jewish roots
  • Venue: Villa Grabau
  • Guests: a large wedding of 90 people
  • Side notes: a vibrant wedding reception with lots of entertainment

The wedding plan

How did we pull it off

Sophie and Nick's wonderful day went on too fast and we were so excited for this sweet couple. The ceremony was very touching and everyone and everything looked its best! The flower design added such a romantic touch to it all, and we were happy to see the floral huppah staged in honour of Nick's Jewish roots.

In the hours following, we witnessed nothing but joy, fun and lots of celebrating together. Angela, our onsite coordinator reported back saying all our plans succeeded and love was in the air.

Grateful once again to this opportunity of walking with a happy couple towards one of their most important moments in their lives.

W gli sposi!
