Recreational activities

Dolce vita on the lake

The sweetest way to enjoy the lake is from the lake. Sit with your loved one at the pier for a small breakfast, book a boat for a day, swim in the bays around the Isola del Garda or commit to a good tan in one of the more discreet coves along the banks. If you have any energy left, the golden hour deservesproper lakeside time, perhaps even more enjoyable if you order an Aperol Spritz at the bar in the sociable town of Salò.

Fans of culture will love to visit the opulent residence of the very controversial, and very known Italian poet Gabriele D'annunzio, an incredible architectural compound of multiple buildings, inside streets, theaters, gardens, waterways, boats and cars. In the eccentric gardens, summer concerts of international performers of the likes of Patti Smith and Paolo Conte delight the audience with sounds of the water serving as a soft, melodic base.

Keep busy with:

  • excursions in the medieval towns of Lake Garda
  • canoeing around the lake
  • horse riding on the mountain trails
  • water ski with your friends
  • biking along the lake banks
  • sailing at sunset
